New Website Tool Helps
Visitors
Find Small Business Grants
Home Business Center, Inc. has added a grant research tool on their website, enabling
visitors to search for government money that is available to small businesses.
Oct 05, 2010 – The “Small Business Grants” section at Home Business Center includes a new grant-finding
tool that gives entrepreneurs another resource for finding start-up money in a tough economy.
“People have lots of questions about small business grants,” says Sue Barrett, Director of Business
Solutions at Home Business Center, Inc. “Are there really grants for small businesses? How do I go about
getting one?”
There is an ongoing debate as to whether government grants exist for small businesses. Are those late-night
infomercials advertising “free money” really true? According the the Small Business Administration, “The
federal government does not provide grants for starting and expanding a business.” They also state, “Some
business grants are available through state and local programs, non-profit organizations and other groups.”
Unless you know where to go or who to ask, it can be very time consuming to research which government grants
are available and how to apply for them.
With help from Matthew Lesko of the Matthew Lesko Government Money Club, Home Business Center has added a
grant research tool on their website, enabling visitors to search for government money that is available to
small businesses. Visitors can use the tool for free, and by entering a grant category (ie. business), their
state and their approximate income level, they can receive a basic list of government grants, loans and other
assistance programs available.
Matthew Lesko researches government grants and maintains this information in a large database, which
interested users may access for a fee. He also provides help filling out grant applications and has free videos
for non-members where he interviews government officials about grants.
To access the small business grants section of the website and use the free grant search tool, visitors can
go to the small business financing page at http://www.homebusinesscenter.com/funding.html.
