How to Set Goals, Goal-Setting Software 1-2-3
"Goal-Setting Software Makes Achieving Your Goals a Lot Easier!"
Are you
frustrated because you aren't reaching your business or income goals?
You're not alone. You may know the goal you want to achieve - but understanding the steps you need to take
can be challenging.
Not many people enjoy the task of writing out a timeline for goals and objectives. And once you have your
goals on paper, it's easy to get distracted and fall behind on your goal agenda.
There's no question about it, setting goals works. In fact, many people use now using visualization and
manifestation techniques to help them reach the goals that they've set. You've probably seen seminars or
training programs on these subjects. However, your don't need to invest in expensive courses or training to
successfully reach your goals.
9 Secrets to Really
Achieving Your Goals
If you are highly motivated, a simple piece of paper and pencil works. Some of the newer goal setting
software programs take this a few steps further by making the process fun. They enable you to easily break down
your big goals into bite-sized chucks with strategic timelines, so that you know exactly how to reach that big
goal - and are more likely to succeed.
I've outlined goal-setting tips below, plus there's a goal software program called GoalPro that you can try free. It can
help you easily outline your goals and the steps to achieve them - even if you never decide to buy it.
Setting Goals: Decide What You Really Want
- What is most important to you in your life?
- If you could change anything about your life, what would it be?
- What one thing do you never want to bother with again?
- Imagine yourself having achieved your goal: what will you do with your extra time and money?
Write your ideas down, be as specific as possible and also include why you want to achieve this goal.
It's important to know what drives you, as many times the "why" is more important in achieving the goal than
the "how".
Set a Date for Reaching Your Goal
Give yourself a date at which you want to achieve your goal. Make sure that it's one that will challenge you
- while at the same time - one that you realistically meet. You also want to be specific about the
particular goal that you want to achieve by that time.
Goal-Setting Tips:
- Specific and Measurable: time deadlines, dollar amounts, etc..
- Realistic and Attainable: make it stretch outside your comfort zone, but not so far that you can not
attain it.
Divide the timeline of your goal into shorter segments, and match each segment with a portion of your goal
that you want to reach during each segment. This way, you know if you are on track to meeting your goal (and
make task adjustments if needed) before your deadline arrives. Need help? >> How to Get Everything You Want
Develop A Strategy for Achieving Your Goal
Now that you know what you're working toward, simplify your goal by breaking it into steps. Keep in mind the
resources, assistance and knowledge you may need to attain before accomplishing your ultimate goal.
- Long Term Goals:
10-year, 5-year and 1-year goals
- Short Term Goals:
goals for the next 9 months, 6 months and 3 months
- Immediate Goals:
1-30 days from now
Try to anticipate obstacles and develop plans for dealing with them. Make your plan flexible, things don't
always go as projected.
Turn Your Goals Into Questions (& 10 Reasons Why)
You've set a goal. It is specific,
measurable and has a deadline. All the things a good goal should be. Now what?
If you're like me, you need a push to move from "goal setting" to "goal getting". Questions can give you the
push you need to get moving on your goal and make it become a reality.
Here's how:
- Write out the question, "what steps do I need to take to make this goal come true?" This question helps
you come up with a step by step plan.
- Then write, "which of these steps can I start acting on now?" This question helps you get the ball
rolling and off to a good start.
- Keep writing out new questions as they come to mind to help you get over every hump and through every
phase until the goal is accomplished. One of my favorites when I get up in the morning is, "what can I do
today to move me closer to my goal?"
- You should also use questions to gauge your progress. "What changes or improvements can I make to help
me accomplish this goal sooner?"
- Also use questions to push through procrastination. "What can I do right now to help me move closer to
my goal?"
- A question can help you break the goal into small, more manageable pieces. "What little step can I take
now to keep me moving toward this goal?" I also use this same question when I have only a little time
between other responsibilities to make me "sandwich" a little goal-related activity between appointments or
projects.
- Use question to keep yourself motivated. "Why do I want to accomplish this goal?"
-
Questions can also help you visualize the finish line. "How will my life be different when I accomplish
this goal?"
- Keep your emotions from growing stale or fading with, "how will I feel when I accomplish this
goal?"
- And possibly most important of all, use questions to escape from drudgery. "How can I make this job fun
and enjoyable as I move closer to my goal?"
Questions have their own extraordinary power that focus your mind and can keep you moving toward your goals.
Use them as tools to help you get the job done.

Reward Yourself!
Give yourself some incentive! Think about it - if you don't reward yourself, then what are you working
for anyway? Even small rewards can motivate you take action to get you closer to your end goal.
I've found this so true for myself. I actually enjoy my work more because there's a "treat" for me at the
end. I never realized goal setting could be so much fun. Try Goal-Setting Software Free
