How to Sell More on eBay 1-2-3
How to Increase Your eBay Sales
Are you already selling products on eBay, but not making as many sales as you would like? Before you start
selling a different product or quit eBay entirely, take a look at your competition. You can often learn a lot
from what they are doing.
Take a look at products in your market that have already sold. Conduct a search on eBay for sales already
completed instead of viewing listings that are still active. You can do this using the "Advanced Search"
tool.
Sort the listings by "Highest Price First", so you can view the most successful listings - the ones that
generated the most money. Obviously, these sellers have implemented marketing strategies that get their
items to sell at higher prices. Here's where we want to take a look at what they have done - and use their
tactics in our own listings.
The first thing that a shopper sees is the listing title. Look at the words used in the titles, length of
title, numbers, misspellings, capitalization. What trends do you see?
Photos or images are important. Do the listings with
a high selling prices have lots of photos? Higher quality photos? Larger images?
The content that is written in the item description is important too. In addition to giving the shopper
information about the product for sale, keywords can be found by the search engine - making it easier for
shoppers to find these listings as well. Generally, the more content, the better. However, you want the content
to be well organized, easy-to-read and contain high-value information.
Shoppers also want to buy from sellers they trust. Do this listings look trustworthy? How so? Do they offer
multiple payment methods? Fast shipping? Do the sellers offer a return policy or a guarantee? I know in my own
eBay shopping experience, I sometimes purchase a higher priced item because I trust the seller more, the
shipping is faster or the purchasing process is more convenient.
